Equipping Connection
Equipping Connection Classes (ECCs) are a vital part of Calvary’s Adult Ministries. They gather in Rooms 112–133 on Sunday mornings during both service hours (8:45 & 10:20 AM). Equipping classes run for 7–8 weeks per session. They are designed for two purposes:
- A place to Connect: We want to provide an opportunity for you to connect with others in meaningful spiritual friendships. Toward that end there is time during each equipping connection class to connect with other members of the class, pray for one another, and share life with each other. Our goal is to cultivate community in each ECC.
- A place to Grow and be Equipped: We want to provide an opportunity where you can grow in your faith and in your understanding and application of God’s Word. With that in mind we take time each week to engage with God’s Word and explore a particular passage of Scripture or topic. Our goal is to grow in Christ likeness, so that we can live lives of Godliness and Service.
Three Types of Equipping Connection Classes
LifeStage Classes
LifeStage Classes are designed for people at a particular stage of life. We currently offer six classes:
- Young adults
- Young married couples without kids
- Parents of young kids
- Parents of teens
- Baby Boomers (older but still working)
- People who are age 50+
These classes are designed for a specific life stage, but anyone is always welcome to participate in any LifeStage class.
Elective Classes
Elective Classes are not designed for any particular group of people, but are instead built around a particular book of the Bible or topic being studied. Anyone is welcome to participate in an elective class. A listing of topics being covered can be found in the bulletin and on the web.
Core Classes
You might have heard people talking about CORE Courses. What are they? CORE Courses are classes we feel are so important that we want everyone to take them. They give a big picture overview of God’s Word, Theology, and Practical Christian Living. Our goal is to rotate each CORE class through every LifeStage and Elective classroom over the next couple years so you don’t have to detach from your normal class to get them. And of course, you are always welcome to participate in a class even if it’s not your particular LifeStage. Get plugged into a CORE Course soon!
