This Sunday
Let’s face it! We lead busy lives. With all that we do, day in and day out, our walk with the Lord can quickly turn into a race against ourselves and the clock. While it’s true that we are “running the race to win the prize”, sometimes we need slow down and take time to hear from the Lord.
Each week, this is where we will be posting our focus for the coming Sunday’s worship time. It is our hope that you will use this to prepare your heart and come, eager to worship Him!
We hope to see you Sunday!

It really is hard to believe the amount of planning that is required once you find out you are having a baby. This is especially true for the first one. Hospitals, doctor visits, clothes, car seats, diapers, wet wipes, bottles, cribs, changing tables, more doctor visits, blankets, aspirators (the bulb thing you use to clean out their noses…that was a new one to me), prenatal vitamins, baby name books, baby signs books, still more doctor visits, phone calls, emails, Facebook status updates, tweets, breathing classes, birthing classes, parenting classes. Yikes. The list is endless! But, rightfully so, don’t you think? This is a HUGE deal. There will be a new life entering the world and those parents who have never done this before will be responsible for all the care this little one receives.
Now stop and think for a moment: what would happen if those parents thought about nothing beyond the birth? What if they made no plans for anything beyond day one? They didn’t consider where he would sleep, how, what and where he would eat. They didn’t bother themselves with who would take care of him? What if they weren’t concerned about what would happen if he gets sick? They bought no clothes. They bought no bed, no diapers, no toys, nothing! Well, apart from being terrible parents, what kind of life would that new baby expect? We know for sure that if they spent all their energy thinking about the birth and none at all thinking about his life there would be a rude awakening coming…most likely at 2 o’clock in the morning…and 4 o’clock…and 6 o’clock, and on and on!
Now, take that thought and apply that to the Christian life. When a new Christian is born do we put as much thought into their new life as we would a newborn baby? After all, that’s what the bible tells us they are. ”Born again” as Jesus puts it in John chapter 3 or a “new creation” as Paul writes in his letter to the Corinthians. They are newly born. They need help to learn, grow and be safe just like a new baby. The truth is that a newborn Christian wouldn’t fare any better than a new born left alone in the world.
It is to than end that Pastor Harry will continue his series this weekend entitled, “O Come Let Us Adore Him”. He will be addressing the importance of feeding and nurturing a new life in Jesus. As the body of Christ, we should be ready to help those who are new in their faith. You won’t want to miss this message. It will encourage and empower you to reach out to new believers as God leads them your way.
