Worship Team

Jared Messer became Director of Worship in 2009. He began leading worship in 1991 and prior to joining the CBC staff he served as worship pastor for churches in Tennessee and Ohio. Jared majored in Music Education at Miami University (OH) with a concentration in voice. Proficient on many different instruments, he spent much of the past 9 years writing, arranging, and producing in Nashville.

Jared has a life-long passion for music of every kind but also loves film. He self produced and edited an hour long documentary called “One Soldier Remembers” which is the personal account of his grandfather’s tour of duty during WWII.  When he isn’t working on film production, he enjoys watching them, especially classics from the 1940s and 50s. Oh, and don’t even get him started on Andy Griffith or he’ll recite every line of the series! 

We each have a story and like many of us Jared is no stranger to difficulty. In his early twenties, he suffered from an unknown, debilitating illness for 7 long years. During that time God began teaching him that only through Christ do we find our true worth and purpose. Thankfully, a diagnosis was made. He fully recovered and came back stronger, ready to serve the Lord.

Jared and his wife Rachel have been married for 11 years and have 3 children.
