Security Policy

Children do not live in a secure world. We must do everything possible to help them feel secure physically and emotionally. The trust they have in us and this place will help them develop trust in Jesus. One of the core philosophies at Calvary Bible Church is to take every precaution to ensure the safety of our children. Therefore, all who serve with the children in any CBC ministry are required to complete a volunteer application and consent to a criminal background check. The application process helps to provide protection for both our CBC kids as well as the volunteers.

Qualifications

  1. Knows Christ personally as Lord and Savior
  2. Models Christ-like character, a Christian life-style and evidences continuing spiritual growth
  3. Subscribes to the Church Doctrinal Statement and agrees to teach doctrine consistent with doctrinal position and approved curriculum.
  4. Has attended CBC for 6 months (occasional exceptions may be made to the 6 month rule per recommendation of pastoral staff)
  5. Agrees to uphold the ministry in prayer
  6. Commits to conscientious preparation and carrying out of responsibilities
  7. Coordinators, directors, and supervisors are members of Calvary Bible Church

Recruitment Procedures

  1. Workers complete the Volunteer Application
  2. Reference checks are conducted.
  3. Criminal background check is conducted for those over 18
  4. Pastoral Staff meet with applicant to discuss any questionable issues
  5. Workers are approved for service when all criteria have been met and information has been reviewed by either the Director of Children’s Ministry or the Associate Pastor of Youth. Records are confidentially filed in a locked office.

Note: An observation period may be used to evaluate the appropriateness of the ministry “fit.” Any observation will be evaluated and discussed with the recruit as a helpful learning experience.
