About Calvary Bible Church |
| In 2006, Calvary Bible Church celebrated 75 years of God's
blessings and goodness to this body of believers. In 1931, CBC had its beginning as a small Bible study in
downtown Neenah and since then it has multiplied into a vibrant, family focused, growing congregation that
meets in an extensive new campus. Our 74,000 square foot facility is located on a 33 acre site on the west
side of Hwy 41, conveniently accessed at the Main Street/Oakridge Road exit. The campus currently houses a
750 seat worship center, offices, cafe, and extensive Christian Education facilities for all ages. During
the week, the Christian Education Center houses
Fox Valley Christian Academy,
a Christian day school founded in 1977. The school has an enrollment of approximately 260 students in
grades K-8 with a staff of full and parttime professionals. |

| Our Mission |
Calvary Bible
Church is a Christ-centered community whose purpose is to glorify God through the
transforming power of Christ's truth and love, so that we can know him and make him
known.
In order to carry out this mission and to make Christ known in all places and for this
glory, we will focus on three spheres of ministry:
|
|
Exaltation - honoring God in praise and worship
Equipping - preparing the Body of believers for life and ministry
Evangelism - reaching out to unbelievers with the love and grace of God
|
| We Believe |
Our Vision and Values...
We envision Calvary Bible Church as a faith community that is actively committed to
living out the life of Christ in all that we do (Galations 2:20). We want to be a
congregation that not only knows God's Word, but also actively lives out the principles
of Scripture in every area of life. We envision a congregation that "knows Christ and
makes him known" through a variety of ministries that...
- Exalt the Lord Jesus through ministry,
- Equip people for life and ministry,
- Evangelize people in our community and in our world.
Our Beliefs...
The Prominence of the Bible
We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and without error in its
original writings. We believe that the Bible is the Christian's guide and final
authority for all that God wants us to do. 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21
The Person of God
We believe that there is one God who is the Maker and Supreme Ruler of the entire
universe. The Bible reveals that God is a unity of three persons, God the Father,
God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. All three persons have distinct roles and
offices in the plan of God, but they exist in such unity that human beings can
declare what the Bible declares, "Our God is one!" Deuteronomy 6:4, 1 Corinthians
8:6, John 1:1, Acts 5:3-4
The Person of Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus is the second person of the Trinity. He has always existed
and will continue to exist as God. We believe that as part of God's redemptive
plan Jesus took upon himself human flesh. He entered history and time to be the
Savior of all who should believe in Him. John 1:1-14, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 1
John 4:9-10
The Person of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and is the agent
in making people spiritually alive. He is the one who frees individuals from bondage
to sin and death. The Holy Spirit indwells every believer and enables him or her to
grow to become more like Jesus Christ. Galations 2:20
The Power of Salvation
We believe that eternal life and the forgiveness of sins is a gracious gift of God,
and is received through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that those who are truly
saved are secure in Jesus forever. Ephesians 2:8-10
The Purpose of the Church
We believe that the local church exists to glorify God in all that it does, to
proclaim the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, and to equip believers to serve the
Savior in all of their activities. 1 Corinthians 12:12-13
The Practices of the Church
We believe that there are two primary ordinances that are to be celebrated by God's
people - the Lord's supper and Baptism. The Lord's Supper enables worshippers to
remember the sacrifice of Christ on their behalf. Baptism is the believer's public
declaration that one will obey Jesus Christ in all that he asks them to do. 1
Corinthians 11:23-32, Matthew 28:19-20
