| Worship Ministry Philosophy |
The worship of God, or Exaltation,
is one of the core values of Calvary Bible Church. Because we believe that our
lives are to be lived as a spiritual act of worship, our desire is to strive to
glorify Him in all things. (ROM 12:1-2, I COR 10:31) The purpose of our Sunday
worship services is to celebrate God together in a corporate fashion, as a
culmination of the way we should be living throughout the week.
Our desire is to be a body of believers who worship God in "spirit and truth,
for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks." (JN 4:23)

| Three priorities give direction to our worship planning: |
- The Word of God - We believe that the Bible is the authority for all that we
do. Therefore, biblical truth will be the basis for our preaching, our singing,
and all that we do in celebrating as the people of God.
- The Head and Heart - We believe that worshipping the Lord with our heart, or
our emotions, is fundamental to true worship. Yet the fuel that drives our
emotions is truth. Therefore, we sing songs that will engage the mind, so that
our emotions are not uncritical.
- Excellence - We believe in the importance of our platform participants
being "see through" servants of God. By that, we mean that our desire is that the
service is planned and performed in such a way that worshippers will not be
distracted either by lack of preparation or by pride in performance. Our desire
is that worshippers will not see those on the platform, but only God.

| Our desire is that those who come to a worship service at
Calvary Bible Church come with a thirst for God "as a deer pants for water"
(PS 42), and that we all recognize the blessedness of being "poor in
spirit" (MT 5:3). As a result, God will become radically central in all that we
do. |
